Hip-hop legends Wu-Tang Clan have been announced as the halftime entertainment for the Detroit Lions' Thanksgiving Day Classic. The 87th annual game takes place Thursday, November 26 against the Chicago Bears at Ford Field, televised nationally on CBS.
The appearance — the second year of a partnership in which Eminem and manager Paul Rosenberg serve as executive producers of the show — arrives as Wu-Tang Clan wraps its global farewell tour, Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber, and ahead of the group's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction on November 14.
The performance highlights the continued crossover between established music acts and nationally televised sporting events, and how major sports platforms create opportunities for artists to reach audiences beyond traditional music channels.
